Conveyor Metal Detector Working Principle !

168 Read Updated:2024-02-19

Conveyor Metal Detectors work on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Here’s a simplified explanation of how they work:

Conveyor Metal Detectors
Transmitter Coil: The metal detector consists of a transmitter coil and a receiver coil. The transmitter coil generates a magnetic field when an electrical current passes through it.
Metal Object Detection: When a metallic object passes through the magnetic field generated by the transmitter coil, it induces eddy currents in the metal object. These eddy currents create their own magnetic field, which opposes the original magnetic field generated by the transmitter coil.
Receiver Coil: The receiver coil is positioned to detect changes in the magnetic field caused by the presence of a metal object. When a metal object passes through the magnetic field, it alters the magnetic field, which is detected by the receiver coil.
Signal Processing: The signal from the receiver coil is processed by the metal detector’s electronics. The electronics analyze the signal to determine if it corresponds to the presence of a metal object.
Alarm Activation: If the electronics determine that a metal object is present, the metal detector activates an alarm or a signal to alert operators about the presence of metal contaminants in the product on the conveyor belt.

Conveyor Metal Detectors
In summary, conveyor metal detectors work by generating a magnetic field, detecting changes in the magnetic field caused by the presence of a metal object, and then signaling an alarm or alert.
